This animation is a clock that feeds a ‘cellular automaton’. A cellular automaton is a set of simple rules that describe how a cell is influenced by its neighbours, possibly resulting in very complex behaviour. There are many cellular automata, the one chosen here is ‘Conways Game of Life’.
